2009 Events in Tremont!

A Benefit for the Jefferson Avenue Fire Victims
Thursday, July 2nd, 12noon

"Ben and Greg's Renegade Lunches" comes to Lincoln Park!!!
Thursday, July 2nd, 2009 at 12noon

Join Ben Bebenroth from Spice of Life catering and Greg McLaren from Marigold Catering in Tremont's Lincoln Park this Thursday. All the money raised for the lunch will go to the victims of the Jefferson Avenue fire. Suggested donation is $25.00.

The event is pretty special and generous on the part of the catering companies. They donate and bring everything! A two course gourmet lunch! The menu will be smoked and pulled local pork with Carolina BBQ, some kind of cool mac and cheese, slaw, thick-sliced bread, and housemade pickles. For dessert, housemade strawberry ice cream with a salty nut crunch.

There will be a rain location, so show up even if it is raining. Lunch is on a first come first serve basis. They will have seating for up to forty guests.

CONVERGENCE-CONTINUUM

BIG LOVE,
the big summer show at convergence-continuum,
opens July 24 at the Liminis Theatre.
Free admission for Tremonters
for all Thursday performances.

Tremont's resident professional theatre company presents BIG LOVE (not to be confused with the HBO show of the same name). Fifty brides (all sisters) flee their fifty grooms (their cousins), running away from Greece and seeking refuge in a villa on the coast of Italy in this modern re-make of one of the western world's oldest comedies. And, at this coastal Italian villa, home to a decidedly quirky assortment of characters, the fifty grooms catch up with the brides, and mayhem ensues. Grooms arrive by helicopter in their flight suits. Brides repeatedly throw themselves to the ground. There's skinny-dipping in the fountain, pop songs, a romantic waltz, a transvestite dance, and, finally, unable to escape their forced marriages, 49 of the brides gleefully murder 49 of the grooms - and one bride falls in love. About the same odds as today.

BIG LOVE opens Friday, July 24 and runs Thu-Sat at 8 pm through August 22 at the Liminis Theatre, 2438 Scranton Rd. Tickets are $15 general admission, $12 students/seniors (65+). Tremont residents get in free on Thursdays, July 30, August 6, 13, 20. Call ahead for reservations at 216-687-0074, or show up at the door before 8 pm.

BIG LOVE is funded by a grant from Cuyahoga Arts and Culture.

Call ahead to make your reservations at 216-687-0074. You can find more information on convergence-continuum, the Liminis and the 2009 Season of six shows running April - December at www.convergence-continuum.org.
